Hitting the Reset Button for Fall

Can you hardly believe that Summer has come and gone?  Now we are in full swing of Fall (well not technically, YET) and school schedules!  I feel like my head has been spinning.  Can I get an AMEN, here??!

I'll tell ya, it was one fantastic Summer though.  The kids accomplished so much, grew tremendously (physically and mentally) and had some fun milestones – they both learned to ride their bikes without training wheels AND swim!  You can only imagine how proud I

 am of those too!  They are only 4 and 6, and I know there is so much more in store.

Anyway, as much of my Summer was spent playing and going places with them, my nutrition slipped a bit.  I don't think I'm alone on this one.  Right? My fitness and workouts tend to rarely suffer, as they are what keeps me sane and where I find time for "me".  Others get manicures, facials, go shopping, etc.  Instead, my release is working out!  Not such a bad trait, right?

But as I posted recently about the 80/20 Rule, I may have had more like a 60/40 rule, throughout the summer.  Not horrible, as I've made some massive changes in my diet and changed some bad relationships with food, that I once had!  Now, I don't feel like I "deserve" to eat this and that, because I got in a good workout.  Instead, I've change my thought process to I "deserve" to eat better and cleaner, as I feel so much more efficient and strong in my workouts.  That completely outweights the feeling of guilt of overindulgence.  You feel me?

Anyway, with Fall firing back up, and yes, that means Winter is not too far behind, I'm setting myself up for success and going to hit the 21 Day Ulitmate Reset with my husband and a few friends!  I've done it before, and to be honest, has to bring back in a few animal proteins as I was training for the CrossFit Regional Games and needed to be sure I had enough complete proteins and grain carbs.  I know, not a model Coach with showcasing the product, but hey, that just makes me human.  You dig? No sugar coating, you get me! :)

 

I'm a big advocate of truly hitting the "Reset" button when it comes to your workouts and nutrition.  Our bodies need to rid itself of the junk and that can only come from taking in nutrients that are bodies KNOW what to do with, and can help extract the build up of our less-than-stellar days.  

My husband and I will typically do a cleanse of somesort, every quarter, just to re-engage with our internal bodily functions (like how clean I kept that one??).  So mostly it's the 3-day Shakeology cleanse, which I did a mini-one this week, but really looking forward to hitting the next 21 days (we start on September 10th) and really allowing my body to get back to what it knows best – clean fuel. 

Are you feeling that the Summer activities have taken on a life of their own and perhaps got you out of that bikini that you worked hard to get into at the beginning?  Perhaps need a tune up or refresher course on eating right?
